No. PodcastClipper uses AI to add its own captions to your clips. If your original video already has captions burned into the video itself, the result will look messy — two sets of captions stacked on top of each other. Please upload a clean video without any burned-in subtitles. If your video has soft subtitles (can be toggled on/off in YouTube), that's fine — those won't affect the output.

We transcribe your full episode with Whisper, then use Anthropic's Claude to analyze the transcript for the most engaging, shareable moments — segments with strong hooks, key insights, and viral potential. Each video typically yields 5 clips.

All clips are vertical (9:16 aspect ratio), perfect for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. They include burned-in captions for accessibility and engagement.

Most videos process in 3–5 minutes. Longer episodes (1+ hours) may take 5–10 minutes. You'll see a live progress bar while your clips are being generated.

Processing a video costs a flat 5 credits, no matter how long it is. Every job generates up to 5 clips. Credits are deducted when processing begins.

Unused credits are refundable within 30 days of purchase — just contact support. Credits consumed by processing are non-refundable, since once a file starts processing we incur transcription and AI costs. If a job fails before processing begins, you're not charged.

Every new account starts with 5 free credits — enough to process 1 full video and see if the tool works for you before buying.

We support MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and WebM. MP4 is recommended for the fastest processing.

Up to 250 MB per video. If your episode is larger, re-export it at a lower bitrate or resolution (720p is plenty — clips are rendered at 720p anyway). Uploads go directly to our CDN, so large files do not bottleneck on our servers.

There's no hard limit, but we recommend episodes under 2 hours for best results. Most podcasts (30–90 minutes) work perfectly.

Our AI transcription supports 50+ languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and more. Captions are generated in the original language of the video.

Finished clips are hosted on our CDN and can be downloaded directly from your dashboard. We recommend downloading promptly, as CDN links may expire after a period.

We use Google sign-in. Click "Sign in with Google" in the top-right corner. We only access your name and email — we never post to your Google account or access your files.

Your uploaded video is used only to generate clips and is not permanently stored as a source file on our servers. Generated clips are available for download and hosted on our CDN.
